The Ultimate Bench Mat
I have used every type of bench mat ever produced and this is by far my favorite, by miles.
I use it as one large single mat, but it can also be cut up into 3 standard size mats.
Rodico
- Many uses on the bench from cleaning up oil from the movement
- Rodico can help hold small parts
- Rodico can remove dust particles
Rodico is favored for its gentleness and effectiveness, making it a go-to tool for anyone working with delicate or small components.
Watchmakers Paper
- Many uses on the bench
- I use it for polishing end-stones
- Putting parts on to keep them clean
- Lint-free paper can be used to wipe down watch parts like crystals, dials, and movements without leaving fibers behind.
Cleaning Swabs
- Many uses on the bench from cleaning up oil from the movement to pre-cleaning.
I like to use these for cleaning the pallet stones. The don’t leave any lint or residue behind.
2MM bRASS rODS
You will see me using the brass rods for making all kinds of pushers and other bench tools
Pithwood
Pressing tools pivots and wheel teeth into the soft pithwood helps remove dirt and oils. It also helps remove any small metal filings that may be stuck to the tools.
Kimwipes
Kimwipes can be used to clean the surfaces of watch parts, such as crystals, dials, and cases, without leaving behind lint or fibers.
They are effective at removing oils, fingerprints, and smudges from delicate surfaces without scratching them.
Nail Tee's
Nail Tee’s are a dense, pointed tip style that work better than typical Q-Tips.
Great for precleaning movements and certain parts like the mainspring barrel.
Oil Syringes
I use these handy syringes for storing and dispensing my loils like 9010, HP-1300 and 95o4.
Enables you to add verysmall amount to your oil pots.
Shellac
I have found this style shellac to be the best for shellacing jewels like inth impulse jewels and pallet stones.
This is also what I used to make the liquid shellac.
Renaissance Wax Polish
The finest paste wax made.
This is what I used in the video about bronzing watch hands.
Brass Black
Turns brass into a dark color like antique rubbed bronze.
Applied with a Nail Tee.
PEgwood
This 2mm pegwood is a must on the bench for pegging out jewel holes.
I like this small size.
Check out the pegwood sharpener in the bench toll section of the store.
Denatured Alcohol
For use in melting shellac flakes or using a clean burning fuel for a spirit lamp.
Epilame Bottle
Used to store and apply Epilame products to watch parts.
Comes with internal wire basket that fits in the top.
Eye Dropper
Used to apply Epilame to the pallet stones
